Last night I saw John Mayer's New DVD on the big screen at Ronnie's 20 plex. I have to say that is definitely the way to see a music DVD. Everyone in the theater is a fan and you don't feel silly clapping.
As far as the content is concerned, I was pleasantly surprised to see a few songs I didn't expect, including Neon to lead off and the LA Song. The whole set was full of energy, but I have to say, Out Of My Mind was far and away the best song performance of the film. There is just something about JM playing the blues so soulfully I could almost feel the passion oozing through the screen.
On a side note, I did notice that he had a TelePrompter with the words to ever song scrolling as he played. Is it really that hard to remember the words to your own songs? Not a criticism, just a question.
