I listened to new Okkervil River album several times. Each time I came back to it, I hoped that something would grab me, contrary to the previous spins. But each time brought the same result. I'd start the album and before I knew it, it was over. This wasn't because the album was short, but because it just played in the background. It was like static, just constant and unriveting.
I'd still call " The Stand Ins" good , but nothing like what I thought would follow the great "Stage Names"
There were a couple of tracks that stood out. "Lost coastline" which appears to be the single, and these two:
